3 Week Review of Rodan + Fields Unblemish

Let me just say that this post isn't sponsored at all by RF or my distributor, and didn't receive this product for free or a discount
You guys have heard me talk about how I have adult acne, and over the years I've learned what products have worked for me and my face to control it. When I moved to Dallas two months ago everything I thought I knew about my face flew right out the door, and my face flared up like I have never seen it before.

Now when I say I have adult acne I would usually get little zits here and there in the places I would sweat a lot such as around my hairline on my forehead / eyebrows. When I moved to Dallas I was getting acne in places that I HAVE NEVER HAD ACNE AT. The biggest place where I was getting cystic acne was around my jaw, neck, and cheek area. Literally you guys, cystic acne! Every day for a month my face would throb, and I was so embarrassed to go teach since I my teaching pony tail wouldn't hide my face.

I remember crying to Todd saying that I don't know what to do about my face, and all my old remedies weren't working! The Dallas humidity was destroying my face, and I felt completely hopeless that my face wouldn't get better. Todd recommended that I set up a dermatologist appointment, but I knew that trying to get an appointment ASAP would be a "no go" since it typically takes a month or two to get into a derm appointment. I was also questionable about what a dermatologist could do for me since I never had much success with what has been prescribed to me. The only thing that worked for me completely was when I got on Acutane 7.5 years ago, but it was months of hell that I wasn't ready to go back to.

When trying to figure out how to get my face back to normal I was starting to research about Roden + Fields. I know people who sell this, and is always advertised on my Facebook feed. When looking into RF more I primarily saw results on their anti aging systems, and not a ton about the acne systems. Feeling desperate for any sort of resolution I decided to talk to Todd, and ask him if I could purchase the system. With putting all of our Senegence earrings into moving, money was feeling a little tight, and naturally Todd asked me how much it was going to cost.  I told him that the cost of the system was going to cost $180, and from there he told me to wait until the start of the new month so that we can pay for it with our Senegence commission. Now for Todd to agree to such an expensive purchase was completely unlike him, and he knew that finding a solution to my acne was something that meant a lot to me.

When our Senegence commission came in a few weeks later I contacted one of my good friends Stephanie Blodgett who is a RF distributor, and the owner of Pure Barre Draper to tell her that I was ready to purchase. Over the weeks prior to my purchase I was messaging Steph back and fourth about how the acne Unblemish system worked, and I was blown away about her knowledge of the product. She warned me that a side affect of the system could be that I would break out more, and that it's a sign of the system working by purging your skin of dirt in the pores. She assured me that this system would help my face, and I was so excited to get my system in. After she put in my order (thank you Senegence money!) for the Unblemish system my package arrived the next day! We both didn't expect it to come so fast, but the RF shipment came from Dallas so it didn't have a far distance to travel. When I got my package in I did a little happy dance as I opened my box. When opening my package I saw that the Unblemish system comes with a cleanser, toner, acne treatment, and a oil control lotion.

Back story is now over so lets get to my review. Now I would of taken a better before picture, but I was so embarrassed by my acne that I never intended sharing or even creating a blog post out of it. Even though I am so embarrassed about my skin prior to RF I decided I wanted to share it with you guys in hopes that I can help someone who is looking for a solution just like I did.

The image on the left is what I first sent to Steph, and the image on the right is what I took a picture of today. In the picture on the left my face was in so much pain!!! You can't really tell, but each one of those red spots in the left image was a throbbing zit that felt deeply rooted into my skin. Can you see why I was so excited to try RF??

When I first got my package in I started the system the next day. Inside of your system you are given a schedule on how to use the products, and some information about the system. They get you on a schedule so that your face can slowly adapt to the RF products , which is something I've never seen before. On the FIRST day of the system I felt my face already being affected by RF. On the THIRD day I felt my face feeling dry, and the skin on my neck felt flakey. I already noticed that my zits were starting to dry out, and the skin them were flaking off. I couldn't believe that after day THREE of the system I was already seeing results when clinically it could take up to 4 weeks to see any results.

When I was feeling a little dry the first few days I contacted Steph, and she told me that on the days that I don't use RF to try using a mild cleanser. To add more moisture balance to my skin I started implementing my Senegence Climate Control to add in moisture, and some anti aging component to my new skin care regimen. By the time day 5 hit my skin no longer felt dry. I can't even tell you how thrilled I am with how my skin has improved in such a little amount of time!! I am almost done with week three of my regimen, and my zits have decreased 10 fold. Last week I felt so confident without makeup that I did a makeup tutorial on my Pucker and Pout Senegence group page without a stich of makeup on. Never in my life would I have done that with my adult acne, but RF really does work!!!

My skin isn't flawless from RF, but it has helped it SIGNIFICANTLY in the little amount of time I have used it!! I was first skeptical because of the price, but they offer a money back guarantee. This was by far one of my best purchases this year, and will continue to use RF. If you are wanting to try this product with a consultant that knows who stuff reach out to Stephanie Blodgett. I feel so grateful that she was able to help me find something that worked for me, and making me feel more confident in my own skin.

Something beyond excited happened this weekend!!!

Todd had the weekend off!!! All I can say is FINALLY! This is the first weekend that Todd has had completely off, and I was ready to take full advantage of it. For those of you who know Todd and I as a couple know that we are HUGE Game of Thrones nerds. When we first drove to Dallas during the move we saw a Medevil Times on our way to our new apartment, and we both agreed right there and then that Medevil times was going to be the place that we celebrated the season finale. Could you think of a better way to end the season finale? ;)

Saturday morning I worked a Lipsense Pure Barre pop up shop at one of the studios I work at followed by an hour of teaching. Once I got done at the barre I drove straight home to get ready for the evening because this was going to be our first night out. I sit back and laugh that we have been here for two months, and our first night out is going to filled with jousting and dinner. #gobigorgohome. We had such a fun time nerding it up, and our time together out of our house was something that we desperately needed.

Saje

Yesterday afternoon I got the sweetest surprise from my friend Samantha at Saje photography, and they were theses images for a project we did last year!!! This shoot was the first time I met Samantha and Natalie, and little did I know that I would fall in love with the both of them. I still fell so fortunate and lucky that I was so plugged into the creative community in Arizona, and will always the amazing friendships I built from it.

Wellness Wednesday: Healthy & Easy Dinner - Chicken Marsala

Sorry for the delayed post, but I have not been feeling well for the past two days. It's been a while since I've done a "Wellness Wednesday" post, and I know you are going to love this recipe!!
With both Todd and I working odd hours in the day our diet has changed to lots of Subway since we both get home exhausted from our day. Since the day I graduated high school I have never experienced so much eating out before, because I like to know what goes exactly into my food. I love cooking, and especially cooking healthy for my family. I'm all about keeping my family on a healthy diet, and set healthy eating habits. I used to make elaborate meals, but now its all about finding things that are simple & healthy to fit our new schedule. I wish I could take credit for this dish, but one of my good friends gave me the recipe. I hope you enjoy this as much as Todd because he gave it a 10/10 rating ;)

Ingredients

  • 2-4 chicken breasts
  • 1 bottle of marsala cooking wine
  • 1 cup of sliced mushrooms
  • 2 bushels of green onions, divided, and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon of cold water
  • Green beans (optional side dish. We love to steam green beans for about 6 minutes).

Directions

  • In a large pan combine the entire bottle of marsala cooking wine, chicken breasts, half of the green onions, and mushrooms together.
  • Cook on medium high heat for about thirty minutes with the lid on. Flip the chicken every 6-8 minutes.
  • Once chicken has cooked through remove it from the pan leaving the sauce.
  • In a bowl whisk together the corn starch, and water. Place the mixture into the sauce stirring it through. Allow the sauce to continue to cook, and thicken up without the lid for about 5 minutes.
  • Once the sauce has thickened up serve it on top of the chicken. Garnish with chopped green onions.

What a fun weekend it was!!! All Saturday I spent my time in a Dallas Senegence training from 8:30 am-6 pm. I love love love learning how I can build my business more, and be uplifted by the amazing speakers of the company. Sunday was spent sleeping since Todd got home from a 36 hour shift. One of these days I'm hoping that he'll be home on the weekends so that we can go to 6 flags!

What did you do over the weekend?

Happy Friday everyone!!! So this weekend is going to be crazy busy for me!!!

I wish I could say that I take the weekends off of work, but as an entrepreneur you work 24/7 to grow your business. Today is going to be filled with teaching in the am, getting caught up on blogging, doing a social media Senegence training, and then making my way back to the studio to teach again. I am so excited for tomorrow because I will be attending a huge Senegence training in Arlington from 8:30 am - 6 pm.

When you do things that you are passionate about it's hard to take time off from what you love. If you love what you do is it even considered work anymore?

See ya guys on Monday :)

Review of My Recent Activewear Purchases

Due to some technical difficulties with my computer this post wasn't able to go up yesterday for "Workout Wednesday." Lame....

I wanted to share with you guys today some of my recent activewear purchases, and why I am obsessed with them! Lets dive right in shall we :)

  1. Lululemon Fast As Light Muscle Tank - I have been waiting for a tank to come in like this for a while. If you follow my instagram stories then you have probably noticed that I love anything with a cutaway back. When I saw this online I knew I had to go in store to purchase it (thank goodness for the Pro discount), and I was so bummed that they didn't have it in purple. Since I love this tank so much I got it in the dark grey, and will be stalking the stores to see if it comes back in purple. Pair it with a fun bra, and **boom** I'm ready to teach a killer Pure Barre class.
  2. Lululemon Crescent Tank - The color of this tank is what sold me. That forest green is giving me major swoon. While this tank is a crop top make sure you don't throw it in the dryer to prevent it from shrinking. I'm very iffy when it comes to crop tops because I don't like any stomach showing when I pair it with high waisted leggings.
  3. Lululemon Hint of Sheer Tank - I used to have a "no white" rule with any of my activewear in fear of makeup staining it when I'm sweating. Over the years I've slowly broke that rule because white goes with everything! I love this tank because it pairs nicely with high waisted leggings, and is a good basic to have in your closet. This might not make sense, but I love my profile of my torso when I wear this tank :)
  4. Lululemon Free to Be Zen Bra - Every barre girl needs a fun bra, and I loved this grey white pattern it came in. I love the zen bras because they are low support (yeah small chi chis), and the straps won't pull on my neck. This and the Splits 59 loren bra are my favorite bras I own.
  5. Niyamasol Sunrise Dip Dye Barefoot Legging c/o - I've done a brand review on Niyamasol before, and I absolutely love their leggings. Such a fun print to jazz up the activewear wardrobe.
  6. Beyond Yoga Space Dye Leggings - If you have never experienced the "space dye" fabric before then you need these ASAP!!! This material is the softest activewear I have ever felt, and it feels like butter!!
  7. Beyond Yoga Space Dye Camisole - I told you I loved the space dye fabric ;) When I saw this tank available for the anniversary sale I immediately put it in my shopping cart. Since activewear tops are more flow these days I loved that this top was fitted. Another perk is the fun back, and built in bra.
  8. Niyamasol Rose Gold Stripe Barefoot Legging c/o - How fun are these stripes though??? These colors are the perfect thing for fall :)

Fashion Elite with J Petite Linkup - Bold Lips

Photography: Jamee Edwards

The linkup is back you guys!!!! I'm so sorry, but I had to take sometime off from the linkup while getting our new life set up. Don't worry this weekly segment is back in business, and is ready to stay ;)

As you have probably noticed I am a HUGE FAN of bold lips!!!! Anything bright pink or red calls my name every single day.

You guys..... I'm a bold Lipsense addict #thestruggleisreal. My favorite part of getting ready in the morning is deciding on which fun Lipsense color I'm going to wear for the morning, and then deciding the outfit to go with my lips.

Last year I primarily wore lots of nude-pinky lipstick colors, but then once I became a Lipsense distributor I did a 180, and wear brights 90% of the time since I won't have to worry about the color moving since it's Lipsense.

There's something about bold lipstick that makes makeup fun again!

Now I can't wait to see what bold lips you have prepared for me today :)

Thank you for joining me at the Fashion Elite with J Petite Linkup! I love sharing everything that is style whether it be the latest trends or something that is staple in the wardrobe. I absolutely love linkups as a way to connect and discover other amazing bloggers from all around the world. Each week bloggers may submit their posts on Tuesdays at 1 am Arizona Mountain time to show their take on our beauty/fashion theme of the week. Each week I will pick 2 of my favorite bloggers who rocked the trend from the previous week to be featured on my blog.
I would love to see you linking up with me by sharing #fashionelitewithjpetite, and tagging @thejpetite on Instagram. I will feature our favorite Instagram accounts who feature my hashtag.
