You know those days when you want to be so "ambitious," and do everything in one day? I like to call it the curse of the type "A" personality, and is the story of my life.
Last week I responded to a model call for a photographer on Instagram. I heard back from the photographer the next day, and we came up with a cool Halloween concept set for sunrise. I knew that Saturday was going to be jam packed with events I needed to attend, but how can I say no to do something so creative and fun?! This was totally last minute, but that's half the fun right?!
I woke up at 3 am to start working on my hair. By the time 4 am rolls around I head over to the makeup artists place for her to transform me into something spooky. Please note I'm doing all of this while I sip my large sugar free Redbull life support. After an hour and a half of her working her magic on me I was finally ready to leave for the shoot location in Mesa. After an hour of driving I finally reached my destination where "sheer magic" happened between me and the photographer as we worked in the sunrise.
I didn't get back home until 9:30 am. My next event for the day was to attend a blogger brunch held by an amazing company called the Bloguettes at 11am. I had one hour to get ready, and a half hour to drive. Even though my hair was drenched in dirty water from the shoot (absolutely no time to wash my hair again), I decided that I needed to still attend since I have been looking forward to it. After a quick rinse in the shower, I started getting ready for brunch. Knowing my hair couldn't be down with soft curls I relied on my trusty hat and big side braid to cover up any evidence of gross hair.
Once I pulled up to the brunch immediately I noticed gorgeous girl after another walking into the party. After a quick sweep of lipstick, and check of any black paint on my face or chest I was ready to mingle. The party was absolutely gorgeous, and was filled with such positive energy from Phoenix's finest creative minds.
After brunch ended I got back in my car, and drove home to see if I could manage to take a nap before the next event a child's birthday party. When I finally walked into my front door I was surprised to see my husband waiting for me. As I was driving I was thinking about the four hours I would be able to sleep since Todd was supposed to be at a service project till 5pm. Sleep time was now cut down to 2 hours. When I finally woke up 5 minutes before party time, I felt a cold coming on. I knew that there was going to be lots of newborns at the party, and didn't want to be around them with this new disease festering in my body. Conflicted between being a good friend vs being sick I decided that Todd and I needed to at least make an appearance, and avoid every baby holding like the plague.
Sunday morning rolls around, and I am sicker than a dog. Head throbbing, nose dripping, and the voice is gone. If you have any amazing remedies for a cold please let me know because this is going to be a crazy week for me, and I need to be on my A game.
Thanks for letting my ramble, and coming to my little space here in the internet.
