Fashion Elite with J Petite Linkup - Denim Jackets

Photography: Jamee Edwards
Dress: Rachel Parcell / Jacket: Paige / Watch: Michael Kors / Shoes: Kate Spade (similar here) / Bag: Michael Kors / Lips: NARS- Mexican Rose
If there is one thing that needs to exist in my closet always it is a denim jacket. Denim jackets are honestly so diverse, and can be worn with just about anything. A good denim jacket will last you for years, and will be one of the best purchases that you'll ever do for yourself. I tend to lean toward more cropped versions of jackets so that the bottom of my jacket will hit right at my hip.

Can we talk about how cute this pleated dress is from the Rachel Parcell collection. Girl killed it again. When I saw that she came out with this marigold dress I knew it had to be mine. When I bought the dress is fit me perfectly in the shoulders (xs), and no alterations were needed. Hallelujah! #petitewin ! I loved pairing the denim jacket with this dress to give the overall look a more casual vibe.

Featured Bloggers of the Week
I must be fixated on white lace since both of our features this week are wearing white lace.

Andrea from Living on Cloud Nine killed it when it came to the lace game. This dress is so pretty, and love how she's wearing it for winter. This dress can be easily styled for spring by pairing it with some wedges, and a cardigan.

The Em Alexander looks absolutely stunning in this elevated casual look. Love how she popped the outfit with that gorgeous Rebecca Minkoff bag.

Spring Break in Sedona

Photography: Jamee Edwards
Top: Zara (sold out similar here, here, and here) / Jeans: Rag and Bone / Boots: Ivanka Trump (similar here) / Necklace: Alixandra Collections c/o / Choker: Topshop / Bracelet: Stella Dot c/o / Hat: F21 (old similar here) / Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (similar here and on SALE!) /Lips: Sydney Curtis Lipstick: Carmel Apple c/o .
Can I get a whoop whoop for spring break?!! Todd had Friday off last week which marked the start of his Spring break. Since I didn't have to teach on Saturday we decided to go to Sedona with Django to hike West Fork for a day trip. It was so beautiful up there! The last time that I explored Sedona was at 4 am when Ashley and I did a shoot up there (post here and here). The weather was a little chilly so we bundled ourselves up as well as Django. Whenever we put Django's jacket on him he absolutely hates life.

We were only in Sedona for a few hours until we decided to make the 2 hour drive back to home. With life being stressful because graduation is just right around the corner it was so nice for Todd and I to go explore. We work so hard between his school and my work that sometimes we need to ditch our routine, and focus on reconnecting through spending time together.

Cruise Life in Ensenada

Bikini top: 6 Shore Road c/o / Bikini bottom: 6 Shore Road c/o / Necklace: Baublebar c/o / Sydney Curtis Lipstick: Salmon c/o
In honor of Todd graduating dental school come June 1st we decided to go on a cruise to Ensenada Mexico with another couple. I wish that I could of been posting insta stories or snapping during our trip, but when you have T Mobile you are kind of limited lol. We decided to book our trip during February since it was the only time that we could make it work between the boys studying for boards,  them actually taking boards, and figuring out a time to fly to Dallas to check out where we want to live. During our stay it was overcast the first two days, and then warmed up a ton on our last day at sea.

I got this suit in from 6 Shore Road that was perfect for laying out on the boat. When it comes to bikinis I love styles that are bright, small, and extremely comfortable. Sometimes when I get a suit in I'm skeptical on how much I will love it just because I'm so picky when it comes to the bottoms. Since I have muscle on my outer hip sometimes bikinis won't have the appropriate amount of stretch, and will dig into my muscle making it look like a muffin top. There's nothing worse than walking around in a kini looking like you have muffin tops when in actuality you don't. I was thrilled that this suit fit like a dream in all the right places, and will definitely be one of my go to bikinis this summer.

Workout Wednesday: Advanced Plank Series

Bikini season is just right around the corner, and it's time to #getbackthepack. Right before I left for my cruise I was working my butt off in the gym to get the abs ready for some bikini frolicking in Mexico. You guys know me, I love a good ab workout. Here is an advanced plank series that will hit the core, side waist, and burn out the upper body. If you try out this series and like it always write a comment about your experience! I love hearing what you guys have to say!

What you will need: Nothing. Just yourself!

Primary targeted muscles: Core, obliques, upper body.

Modification for wrist injury: Find a bench and place your hands on the bench, and do the series from there.

The Workout

1. Start off in a full body plank position with arms slightly wider than your shoulders. Maintain a bend in the elbows, and have weight shifted into the palms. Lift one leg in the air straight with a pointed toe.

2. Pull the knee forward so that the knee is slightly in front of the hip.

3. Swing the knee across the body.

4. Extend leg straight while keeping the toe off the floor (in this image it might look like my foot is touching the floor just because of the angle).

5. Reverse the whole movement to bring back to the original position. Bend knee in -> open the knee up so its inline with the hip -> extend leg back straight.
Do this 10x for each side!

Leggings: Lululemon (obsessing hard over these here) / Tank: Beyond Yoga (on SALE! Also loving this one too here) / Bra: Lululemon / Hat: Target / Socks: Pure Barre

Fashion Elite with J Petite Linkup - Lace

Top: Shein ($21!) c/o / Skirt: Shein ($15!) c/o / Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell (old similar here, here, here) / Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (similar here) / Earrings: Sugarfix by Baublebar (2 sets of earrings for $13!) c/o / Sunnies: F21
My favorite way to ring in spring is by wearing my favorite textile lace. Lace is so feminine and girly that my style often turns to become more sophisticated during the spring months. When I got this adorable blouse in I was immediately in love because of the quality of the lace, and bell sleeve. You can totally dress this blouse up or down by pairing it with some white skinnies.

Petite Review for Shein lace blouse: I got this blouse in an xs, and it fit perfectly! No alterations needed, and my bank account is thankful for that. The price is incredible for the quality of the lace

Better Days

Photography: Molly McElenney
HMU: Makiaj Beauty
Bodysuit: Missguided / Shorts: Blanknyc / Bracelets: Baublebar c/o here, herehere and Stella Dot c/o /  Necklace: Suagrfix by Baublbar c/o / Boots: Jeffrey Campbell / Bra: Victoria Secret / Sunglasses: F21
If there are two words that could describe my personality it would be this: free spirited. My free spirit allows me to be utterly happy, and look at life with the perspective of the glass being half full. With the overwhelming stress of Todd getting into oral surgery digging away at me everyday makes me realize that it's so important to maintain my spirit. Maintaining my fun loving nature during this time of chaos has been crucial in maintaining my happiness, and not allowing myself to fall into a dark hole.

Right when I find myself being consumed by anxiety and stress I:

Crank up my music, and get lost in the beat of the music...

Dance anywhere and everywhere like no one is watching....

Collaborate on fun projects that allows me to tap into my creative side....

Take on fun and creative photoshoots...

Meet up with a friend, and get lost in conversation for hours....

Go home to Utah....

Being true to myself and my happiness has been the one thing that has got me through the past three months of hell. I know that this stress is only temporary, but I can't wait for it to be over. Here's to better days ahead.
